Who We Are
Since 1957, Pine Grove has been a parent-run cooperative that integrates the best aspects of a "play group" with the educational structure of a developmentally appropriate pre-school program.
As a cooperative, Pine Grove parents assume responsibility for administering the school, for making policy decisions, and for maintaining the school and its equipment. Most important, parents participate in the classroom and work closely with the paid teachers and Director. Classroom participation is an integral part of the Pine Grove philosophy, enabling parents to be part of their child's preschool experience and to be informed and experienced members of the cooperative.
Our program is unique in that Pine Grove nurtures not only the child, but the family as well. Through the sharing of responsibility for the entire school and through participating on a regular basis in the classroom, parents form a community of friendship and support that extends beyond the school.
